Saturdays in Abilene

It's Saturday (hopefully you picked that up from the post title) in good ol' Abilene. Today, I have decided to do as little as possible. So far, I am succeeding.
I woke up at 2 today, fully intending to be awake at 9 AM in order to do some community service that I am entirely lacking. For Presidential, I'm required to do 15 hours, and I have failed to start that yet. I'd like to get it over with, but I'm also lacking the motivation to just suck it up and go do it.

Earlier this week (Tuesday) I went to Dyess Air Force Base to get fingerprinted for my new job, which turned out to be a job that I am not taking. The fingerprinting/paperwork process could have taken up to two months, so since I am going home for the summer, I decided not to mess with it. But the base was awesome. And it was so big. And the fingerprinting wasn't bad either; I was expecting to have ink all over my fingers when I got back, but since they did it electronically, I didn't have to wash my hands multiple times. So now I'm just trying to decide if getting a wal-mart or fast food job for a month would be worth it.

I recently got an iPhone, and I am amazed at all the apps. We switched to AT&T from Sprint, and really we should have done it much sooner. I actually get service now no matter where I am, and of course, who can live without an iPhone. But seriously, it is awesome and so convenient, even at the price of feeling like I'm endorsing ACU conformity (the anti-endorsing ideology the reason behind buying a north face motorcycle jacket instead of the typical black one haha).

Probably the most important topic in my blog today, is that I am soon to be an uncle. My sister's due date for my incoming nephew is April 4th, three days before my birthday, but thankfully, he is apparently ready to vacate the womb. Wouldn't want him to be born too close to my birthday and have my family completely forget it about it. :) I can already tell the random gifts from the parents will be far fewer in wake of the first grandchild. As ridiculous as my parents are most of the time, they have exceeded themselves in their grandparent name choices: D-Mac and Gigi. Hilarious ... but you would probably have to know my parents; always a good time.

I actually got tired and/or fell asleep at a decent time last night; hopefully, this will start a trend that will eliminate my insomnia. Too bad it is too late to stay in tumbling, my 10 AM MWF class. I had to drop it last week. I didn't really need it anyway.

The warmer weather in Texas this past week has increased my excitement for summer. It was already my favorite time of year; now its close arrival is just making me frustrated with school. haha.  I am getting very restless to be out of class. I look forward to spending my days lifeguarding and eating snowcones instead of writing papers and taking chemistry tests.

Well, that's about
it for today. I was considering being deep and broaching the subject of the tenth dimension, but we'll save that for another day.
